Claudia slowly got to her feet, flinching a bit when pressure was applied to her leg. She faced Heather, making note of every facial movement she made, and said
“How am I alive? Well, nothing truly dies here. Whatever dies is reborn again. It happens to every human and every creature. Any dog, any numb body, my father, Vincent, anything will be reborn. It’s like being in Sheol, in reference to the Christian faith. Here is the place of waiting before paradise is complete.
Why are you here? You didn’t die…at least not to my knowledge.”
Claudia saw tears starting to stream down Heather’s face. This isn’t good.
Her foot was bothering her and she would be a bit slower in hand to hand combat, though she could use her telekinetic powers, it was exhausting.
‘If my father truly loves me, he would help me. I hope….’ she thought.
He could sense the rising tension in the air. Heather was ready to do anything. Anything. And Claudia was right in her path. Claudia was injured, he could tell from the way she was precariously standing. And her powers would be nearly useless against an angry girl who had nothing left to lose.
He knew he had to do something. Claudia might have betrayed him, ruined him, and hated him, but she was still his daughter. And now she was in danger.
Leonard moved forwards, stepping in front of Claudia. He looked Heather straight in the eyes. The eyes that had watched as she beat him, shot him, killed him. He felt the skin over his mouth stretch as he smiled. The voices in his head screamed for blood.
“So, Heather, now that you know how this town works, would you like to test it?”
